Jackie Maloney Declares Candidacy for Jefferson Parish District Court Judge

Jefferson Parish, December 13, 2023 – Seasoned legal professional Jackie Maloney proudly announces her candidacy for Jefferson Parish District Court Judge, 24th Judicial District Court, Division D, in the upcoming March 23, 2024 election. With a career spanning over two decades, Jackie brings unmatched experience and a steadfast dedication to public service.


Expressing her commitment, Jackie Maloney stated, "I am honored to announce my candidacy for Jefferson Parish District Court Judge, a position that requires unwavering dedication to justice and a wealth of legal experience."


Jackie's legal journey began at Tulane Law School, where she graduated in May 1998. Commencing her career at the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office, she swiftly ascended to the role of senior homicide screener by the age of 26, showcasing her leadership and legal acumen by overseeing all presentations to the Orleans Parish Grand Jury.


Driven by her commitment to justice, Jackie transitioned to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office, where she served as a felony prosecutor. Throughout this tenure, she handled a diverse range of cases, including murders, sex offenses, armed robberies, drug offenses, and more. Jackie boasts an impressive record of nearly 140 felony jury trials, including the last death penalty case in Jefferson Parish.


In March 2012, Jackie entered private practice, founding her law firm in Jefferson Parish to focus on general civil litigation. Her extensive experience includes handling family law matters, contested successions, real estate disputes, and various legal challenges throughout Southeast Louisiana. Notably, she successfully argued before the Louisiana State Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Louisiana State Supreme Court. Furthermore, Maloney is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.


Beyond her legal career, Jackie is a lifelong Republican, a widow, and the devoted mother of two children, Emily and Colton. Her comprehensive experience in criminal, civil, and domestic law positions her as a well-rounded candidate prepared to effectively serve the community.
