About

Jacqueline F. Maloney

was born in Metairie, Louisiana, and has lived in the New Orleans area her entire life and in Old Jefferson since the 1990s. She graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy in 1992, the University of New Orleans in 1995 and Tulane Law School in 1998.

​After graduating from law school, she worked as an Assistant District Attorney in both the Orleans and Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Offices for nearly 14 years as primarily a felony trial attorney.  She has tried nearly 140 felony jury trials in the Orleans and Jefferson Parish Court systems.

 

In 2012, Jackie opened her own firm in Metairie, operating a general practice, handling litigation in Jefferson Parish and the surrounding areas.  She has handled and tried hundreds of civil law cases before Courts throughout Southeast Louisiana and continues to regularly try cases as a civil litigator in the areas of family law, succession law, contested real estate transactions, protective orders as well as numerous other areas of civil law.  She has successfully argued cases before the Louisiana State Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Louisiana State Supreme Court.

 

Jackie is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar Association.   She is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

This litigation experience is critically important.  The District Court Judges in Jefferson Parish preside over litigation in three areas of law:  Criminal, Civil and Domestic, and Jackie has presented cases to the Court in Jefferson Parish for over 20 years in all three of these areas.

  • Jackie is a life-long Republican, a widow, and the mother of two, Emily (25) and Colton, (14).   She is also the mom to one very spoiled rescue dog, Lizzie.  She lives in Old Jefferson.
